This past weekend I completed the 2008 BP MS150. For those of you who are not from Texas, that is a huge charity bike ride from Houston to Austin to raise money to fight Multiple Sclerosis. It was amazing. Total distance was just shy of 160 miles and my total elapsed ride time was 13 hours 55 minutes. We did about 85 miles the first day and 75 the second. My knees, however, hate me right now. I have never felt pain like this before. Now that it is over, it was totally worth it to say that I did it. It’s time to start training for next year!

One of the guys at one of the bike tents told us that if your knees hurt (the front of your knees), most likely cause is that your seat is too far forward.
Try getting your bike fitted to you and set up properly by a pro.
Of course your knees might just hurt from pedaling into that god-awefull headwind all weekend.

Thanks for the input. I had actually been told that on Saturday and that’s where I made my mistake. I started tinkering with my seat height and that’s what caused the problem. That headwind was nasty and definitely didn’t help.
